At the second edition of the Watch Fair held at the beginning of June at the Grand Duché, prizes were awarded to no fewer than four independent watchmakers whose creations are distributed in France by Ekso Watches Gallery.
The watchmaking event, organized by Premium Magazine, was held from 3 to 5 June this year, in the exclusive setting of the Domaine Thermal de Mondorf in Luxembourg. The fair included various events, such as the “meeting for lovers of beautiful watch movements”.
Watch Fair 2016 brought together numerous prestigious watchmakers, to the delight of watch lovers and collectors.
The highlight of the fair, of course, was the watchmaking competition. Of the eleven categories, four were won by independent watchmakers represented at Ekso.
In the Women’s Watches category, the prize was awarded to Kari Voutilainen for his model Joaillerie vingt-8.
Bovet 1822 was the winner in the Watches with Complications category, for its Récital 18 Shooting Star.
Andréas Strehler won the Innovation Prize for his Sauterelle à Lune Exacte.
And finally, the Special Prize went to Ludovic Ballouard for his Upside Down Platine Art Deco.
The allocation of prizes was decided by a jury made up of journalists, experts, designers and other specialists in the field of watchmaking.
This year’s prizes included the Honor Prize, awarded to Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie; the Aviation & Travel Prize, awarded to Jaeger-LeCoultre for its Geophysic Universal Time; the Sports Watch Prize, awarded to Tudor for its Heritage Black Bay Dark; and the Design Watch Prize, awarded to DeWitt for Academia Mathematical.
